FAQ

Physiotherapy initial assessment

Your first appointment at Alta will involve the following:

  • • Completion of a Case History form that provides background information that will assist our physio with your treatment.
  • • The physio will then ask you several questions to help diagnose your complaint.
  • • This is followed by a physical assessment that incorporates our state-of-the-art VALD technology which includes; range of motion testing, strength testing, balance testing and special orthopaedic testing

Treatment involves the following; hands-on manual therapy,  development of a personalised exercise program through the Telehab app and education about strategies on how to improve your injury.

At the end of the session, you will have a good idea about what is wrong (diagnosis), how long it will take to recover (prognosis and expected timeframe) and be provided with strategies to assist with recovery and prevention (treatment planning).

For your convenience, we have facilities equipped with showers for you to change before and after work if necessary.

There are parking spots designated for Alta clients directly in front of the clinic. In the unusual circumstance that all spaces are taken, there is street parking available on Austin Street.

It is preferable that you wear athletic or loose clothing that allows you room to move and exposes the sight of injury, if appropriate.

There are change rooms available.

You may request to have all your performance assessment data sent to you in a report.

At Alta, we utilise state of the art technology to both assess and treat our clients. The technology provides objective data that helps us to better understand our clients presenting condition, and we use this information to design bespoke treatments, including personalised exercise programs.
